Real Wedding: Smog Shoppe

From the moment I met this couple, I knew this wedding was going to be stunning.  A gorgeous couple with exquisite taste – especially when paired with a down-to-earth personality – is always enjoyable to work with. The elegant bride came to me with two requests – that wedding location be the Smog Shoppe in Los Angeles and that we incorporate the beautiful silver candelabra that she had previously purchased. From these two details, we drew the inspiration for the ceremony and reception designs.

Staying true to the upscale bohemian feel of the venue, we wanted to create a glamorous experience for guests by using décor elements, such as antique rugs and crystal chandeliers. In lieu of escort cards, we used beautiful windowpanes with white calligraphy to direct guests to their seats. For the table design, we decorated the silver candelabra with tall, white candlesticks to provide a romantic glow for guests to dine in, and reflected the gold shimmer of the python patterned La Tavola linen. Family was very important to this couple – so we incorporated as many family photos as possible into the design to give it a personal touch.

Guests danced the night away to a DJ from RedShoe LA, while sipping on Moscow Mules – the couple’s signature drink, and enjoying an array of desserts that were selected by this sweets-loving couple.

This was a wedding to remember as the night was filled with love, laughter, lots of dancing, and a gorgeous bride and groom.
